School Strategic Plan & Monitoring Tool

Johns Creek High School Governance Council has recently completed the strategic planning process and we are pleased to announce a new strategic plan to guide our efforts toward Integrity, Service and Excellence over the next 5 years.

JCHS's Governance Council began the process of putting together a new strategic plan this past June. Working collaboratively an internal assessment was completed, which focused on our internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as external opportunities. As part of our efforts, we reviewed the best practices of other schools in our area, the current public school environment, conducted surveys and sat with focus groups. Those surveyed included the faculty, staff, students, parents, individuals in community leadership positions and other stakeholders.

In September, a draft report was prepared and reviewed in depth by the members of the SGC. Led by Chair Amy Rice and Principal Chris Shearer, with special recognition of the efforts of Vice Principal Ashley Agans, a final version of the strategic plan was approved by the Council in October and we are now in the process of implementing it.

The Strategic Vision is built around several campus-wide areas of focus: Student Achievement; People and Culture, Community Collaboration; and Fiscal Responsibility.  Our efforts will include expanded services not only in academic support, but emotional and mental support as well focusing on the entire student.  We will also develop more opportunities for greater involvement with our community along with continuing our efforts at transparency.

Johns Creek High School is proud of the success it has achieved and the foundation that it has laid over the past ten years.  However, it is our hope that this new plan will enhance our effectiveness and build upon our legacy and have an even greater impact on the lives of Johns Creek students and the community we serve.
