HOPE & Zell Miller Scholarships
HOPE Scholarship
The HOPE scholarship is a merit-based scholarship that provides partial tuition assistance at eligible public and private Georgia postsecondary institutions.
HOPE GPA
The HOPE gpa is based on a student's core classes (math, science, social studies, ELA, world language) and is on a 4.0 scale. To be eligible for the HOPE scholarship, a student needs at least a 3.0 HOPE gpa. The HOPE gpa includes all high school core classes. High school courses taken in middle school are not included. The gpa is calculated by the Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC) and can be found through a student's GAfutures account. More information can be found here.
Students must have their SSN on file to view their HOPE gpa. If you do not provide your SSN upon FCS enrollment, please bring your SSN card to the JCHS Counseling office so we can make a copy and upload your SSN to GAfutures.
HOPE Rigor
Students need a minimum of 4 HOPE rigor credits, in addition to the minimum HOPE gpa. See GAfutures for the most up-to-date information on academic eligibility here.
